I have worked in this industry for 49 years and my current position is President & Portfolio Manager. I am a problem solver who loves to work with clients to help them see the big picture and then have team players work with the clients to achieve their goals.

In my free time I enjoy working around my acreage, getting a golf round in, and spending time with my kids and grandkids.

I started with MFG Ltd. in 2008, its founding year. My father had previously used the MFG name, but never as an operating company. We were excited to be launching one of the only privately owned registered portfolio management firms in the province. It was going to allow us the opportunity to offer investors a much more sophisticated investment platform. One that would allow us to develop portfolios in an institutional manner, mimicking how large institutions invest and offering greater portfolio diversification and risk adjusted returns. Fast forward to today and we have built a great business that is changing the advisor/client relationship in our industry. We have developed a very talented team of individuals that work together to offer our clients superior products and services.

I have worn many hats throughout the last twelve years and still help with many aspects of our business. I work hand in hand with many of the division leaders in our organizations as we strive to achieve our company’s goal of…. always improving every aspect of our business. I also help lead the business development division for the company, by sourcing and bringing exciting new products to market and growing our client base.

Outside of the office, I am passionate about traveling, reading, various sports and whatever my latest obsession is. I try to spend time with family and friends enjoying these passions, whether it be at the lake, on the golf course, down a ski hill or getting to check out another part of the world. I have a wonderful wife and two awesome kids, my girl Ryan and my boy Jett. It is amazing to be able to watch them grow and spend time with them. It also makes life very busy, but I would not have it any other way.

I joined the Financial industry in 1999 as an assistant.  Since that time, I have been fortunate enough to learn and appreciate all aspects of this wonderful business.  I believe all these steps and milestones in my career make me a better business owner and Portfolio Manager.  My day to day involves managing relationships and providing quality service to a large number of MFG clients.  I lead our Client Experience division where the main focus is to be Always Improving and using our Team Approach to ensure we are delighting our clients.

I am super blessed with a wonderful wife Natasha and 3 beautiful active kids Vince, Emma & Thomas.   In summer, you will typically find us enjoying our backyard hosting friends and family.  I absolutely love Winter!  My favorite spot in the world is in Northern Saskatchewan where you will find me snowmobiling, ice-fishing and laughing with friends.

I started with MFG in 2008 as a research analyst. In 2010 I became an associate portfolio manager. I am currently a portfolio manager and a partner at MFG working closely with our team to help build and manage portfolios. Additionally, I work with several our clients as their lead portfolio manager and currently sit on the Alignvest Student Housing Investment Committee.

During my personal time, I enjoy time with my wife Carrie and our two daughters Lakelyn and Layla. We spend our summers at our family cabin where we enjoy watersports, campfires and having BBQs. Additionally, I enjoy my time as a director for a non-profit organization called farm in the dell.

Mindy Meckelborg / Partner, Operations Manager

I started with MFG in 2009 as an Executive Assistant, working closely with Mark Meckelborg and Mark Teal. My role began to evolve as I started taking on more and more tasks relating directly to the operational components of our business. In 2014, I became Partner and assumed my current role as Operations Manager. I work with our team members to create efficiencies within our internal systems, as well as with our custodians to improve upon our day-to-day processes. I also work closely with our issuers to coordinate funding’s, distributions, tax reporting (my favorite!), communiques, etc. Most recently, my role has expanded to include marketing and compliance related activities within the firm.

Outside of office hours, my husband and I spend the bulk of our time trying to keep up with our two young boys. In the fall/winter, I can be found searching for warmth at any one of the city’s rinks; In the springtime, I’m cheering on my sons at the ball diamonds located the absolute furthest from our house (#everysingletime). Summer means lake time and mentally preparing to do it all over again in the fall!

Richie Stanviloff / Associate Portfolio Manager, Insurance Advisor

I completed a Bachelor of Commerce through the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Finance and entered the industry in 2007 after accepting a position at a major financial institution.  I started with MFG in 2013 as a Research Analyst working closely with the Portfolio Managers and worked with Jerry Meckelborg in MFG’s Insurance division.  I became an Associate Portfolio Manager in 2015 and now manage MFG’s insurance division.

Outside of office hours, my wife, Jamie, and I try to keep up with our young son (hopefully 2 soon!).  I am an avid sports fan, cheering on my beloved Calgary Flames and Dallas Cowboys.  In the summer months, I enjoy playing golf and spending time with the family.

Zach Sim / Associate Portfolio Manager

I started with MFG in 2016 as a Client Relationship Manager and Research Analyst, working closely with our entire team.  I spent the majority of my first two year leaning the business and obtaining my current licensing as a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®). My role evolved to where it is today as an Associate Portfolio Manager.  I spend the majority of my time servicing our clients but also work on our business development team to help introduce new families to our business.  I also help organize and structure our client servicing to ensure no stone is unturned when dealing with our client’s financial situation.

My Wife and I have a daughter, Scottie, born in January 2019.  We are also expecting our second, January 2021.  In the summer I find myself making many excused to get out to the golf course!  If it is a weekend, there is a good chance we are on the pontoon at the lake or enjoying the quiet mornings at the farm.  We also are big dog lovers and our two, Hank and Nella, keep up busy and active during the summer months.

I joined MFG in 2020 to pursue my passion of Financial Planning. I was asked to head up and develop a financial planning division for MFG. My day to day involves development and implementation of Financial plans and strategies for MFG Clients. My job is more than just the numbers, I want to really get to know you and your family and understand your goals and desires, to help you achieve them. I have been in the Financial services industry since 1998 as a Financial and Insurance Advisor and Financial Planner, I have worked with business owners on developing advanced planning for their corporations and understand all aspects of the business. Nothing is more rewarding to me, than to see the look of relief on a client with concerns about their financial future and being able to implement strategies to help them achieve their goals and give them piece of mind.

In my free time I enjoy golf and spending time at the lake with family and my German Shepherd, Nico, or just swimming in our backyard pool with my 4 kids and all the boyfriends. As for the Winter and Fall I enjoy spending time with family and having Sunday suppers with the clan.

Janine Meckelborg / HR Manager

I have been a member of MFG since its inception in 2009 and I currently act as the group benefits administrator for the owners and staff of MFG. My role also includes completing the necessary documents for the corporate and individual insurance licensing, error and omissions insurances for the corporation, payroll for MFG staff which includes dealing with any questions or concerns regarding employee benefits, as well as account reconciliation and banking on a regular basis.

A typical Sunday for me would include waking up, having coffee and doing the crossword from Saturday’s paper. Going to church and meeting the family for coffee right after. The afternoon is usually filled with running errands and then we try to get as many grandkids over for supper as possible. The night is capped off with a healthy dose of “House of Cards”.

I started working with Jerry Meckelborg in 1986.  I am currently Executive Assistant to Jerry Meckelborg, Benoit Gaudet and Richie Stanviloff.  I assist the advisors in the day to day processing of business, follow up and client service.  A lot of my time is spent on the administrative side of the business liaising with our back offices and clients.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with family and friends be it at home or at the lake.  I enjoy singing and am part of a vocal ensemble in the city.

I started with MFG in 2013 as a receptionist and administrative assistant but quickly worked my way up to Executive Assistant, being the right hand (wo)man to Mark Meckelborg, Mark Teal, and Zach Sim. My work can typically change from day to day but include independent projects, working on client files, event planning, and marketing. As a key member of the marketing team I assist with creating content, hard-copy, promotional material, social media, and web design. Other committees I sit on include investment strategy, social, and chairing the admin team.

In my free time I love to spend as much time I can on the golf course! If I am not golfing, I can be found at the lake in the summer, travelling, enjoying restaurants/patios, and spending time with my family, friends, and dogs.

My introduction to the Industry began with a role at one of the largest Canadian Insurance providers in Waterloo Ontario in early 2016. After returning to Saskatoon in 2018 I started with MFG as an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist. In 2019 I transitioned to working exclusively with the Insurance and Marketing Teams. I currently perform all the administrative tasks for the Insurance Team to meet the needs of our current and prospective clients. I also am a key member of our Marketing team focusing on creating content, hard-copy, promotional material, social media, and web design.

Outside of office hours I like to spend time taking classes around Saskatoon, from pottery to moccasin making, I always have a new creative project on the go. I enjoy cooking and spending time with family on the weekends. I also volunteer at a few local non-for-profits when I have time.

I have been working as an Administrative Assistant for majority of my professional career and joined the MFG team in November of 2019.  My role as Receptionist/Administrative Assistant at MFG includes a wide range of tasks, from welcoming customers and answering phone calls and correspondence to booking travel and closing investments.

Outside of office hours, you can usually find me snuggled under a warm blanket with a good book and a nice cup of tea or depending on the time of year, riding along with my husband in a Combine or Tractor (#FarmWifeLife).

I joined MFG in the May of 2019 on an internship while finishing my degree in Finance from the University of Saskatchewan. In June of 2020 I started full time as a Research Analyst working within our Portfolio Management Division where my day-to-day activities include building and analyzing portfolios for current and prospective clients and evaluating new and existing investment opportunities.

In my personal life I enjoy going to our family cabin for some fishing, snowmobiling, and relaxing while doing some renovations (big and small). When I stay in Saskatoon I try to do as much golfing as I can while enjoying our short but sweet Saskatchewan summers.

As an Associate Portfolio Manager, Professional Financial Planner and Insurance Advisor, I work with my clients to solve all of their financial planning needs. With 13 years of experience, I work one-on-one with my clients to find solutions to the challenges they face in planning for and managing their retirement.

My typical Sunday in the fall or winter is spent at the rink coaching my kids hockey, in the spring at the ball diamonds for their baseball and softball or in the summer camping at one of Saskatchewan’s great lakes.

I have been involved in the Financial Services Industry since 1990, doing Personal, Farm and Business Retirement and Estate Planning, as well as Portfolio Management of investments for clients. I love to interact with people and assist them in attaining their personal and financial goals. I have experienced the ups and downs of the financial markets and the ebbs and flows of many people’s lives throughout my time in business. I believe people want and need an advisor that they can rely on and trust. I have always endeavored to do my best for any and all of the people I work with.

My wife Susan and I enjoy many outdoor activities and participate in walking, pickleball and golf , to name a few. We also love to spend time with our small family, two sons, two daughters in laws, and our granddaughter.

In the summer, I enjoy working in my yard or camping. In the winter, I enjoy watching the Blades and Huskies games or just relaxing.

Richard Facia / Insurance Consultant

Since entering the financial services industry, Richard Facia has served as Director of Advanced Marketing for two major insurance companies. Currently, Richard provides advanced technical support to Meckelborg Financial Group and its clients in the area of insurance planning for estate preservation, corporate owned insurance, business succession planning, planned gifting, product analysis, and taxation issues pertaining to life insurance.

Richard also conducts seminars and workshops for insurance and investment advisors, clients and professional advisors on matters relating to life insurance applications and taxation. Richard is a member of CALU (Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting) – an association of top insurance advisors, tax and legal professionals working in the advanced insurance, tax, and estate planning markets.
